Born in the Shadows of Himalayan Giants
Yeti Hikes was born from a shared conviction among veteran Himalayan expedition leaders and native Sherpas in Kathmandu: the Himalayas are not merely a bucket-list destination to be rushed through, but a living, sacred realm deserving deep reverence, patience, and authentic companionship.
Having spent decades leading mountaineering parties across the Khumbu, Annapurna, and Manaslu ranges, we witnessed how commercial mass tourism was increasingly commoditizing high-altitude trails—cramming dozens into impersonal groups, underpaying local porters, and treating the mountain communities as mere background scenery.
We founded Yeti Hikes to set a radically higher standard: intimate group sizes, handcrafted itineraries designed around optimal human acclimatization, genuine cultural immersion with remote monasteries and villagers, and absolute dignity for our mountain staff. Today, we remain proudly 100% locally owned and operated right here in Paknajol Marg, Thamel, Kathmandu.
